Nazm Rahat is a rising senior at Millsaps College, majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in Literature in English. Nazm is an active member of the Student Government, serving currently as student government President and previously as Vice-President, and works as an academic consultant and student researcher. Her passion for biological sciences and the state of health education and outcomes in the South led to her involvement in the Summer Health Professions Education Program with the University of Louisville, Kentucky, where she studied the key determinants affecting health outcomes in health equity, policy, and disparities in rural and urban Kentucky. After graduation, she intends to earn a medical degree and pursue a fulfilling career as a physician-public servant. Nazm is originally from Meridian, Mississippi.
