The Secretary’s Circle comprises Phi Beta Kappa Society members who make a commitment to give an annual gift of $1,776 or more in support of the goals of the Society.

Your investment strengthens our National Arts and Sciences Initiative, helping us lead efforts to protect funding for the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities, the Society's signature legislative achievement.

Your contribution promotes the work of outstanding scholars through our Visiting Scholars Program, supporting lectures and student-focused seminars at more than 100 campuses each year.

Your support makes possible new initiatives like Key Connections, fostering a cohort of young ΦBK leaders through networking and mentoring across ΦBK generations.

Meet

Frederick M. Lawrence is the 10th Secretary/CEO of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. An accomplished scholar, teacher and attorney, Lawrence is one of the nation’s leading experts on civil rights, free expression, bias crimes, and higher education law. In leading ΦBK, he has focused on advocacy for the arts, humanities and sciences, and invigorating the Society’s 290+ chapters and nearly 50 alumni associations. Learn More.
