Nayantara Arora is an incoming fourth-year student at the University of Oregon and is originally from Portland, Oregon. Studying Neuroscience and Global Health in the Clark Honors College, she is passionate about equity, social justice, and human rights, and how these can be approached through an empathetic, research-based, or public health approach. On campus, Nayantara is involved with the Students for Global Health Club, South Asian Cultural Alliance, and Student Health Advisory Committee. She is a research assistant in Dr. Ashley Walker's Aging & Vascular Physiology lab, which looks at Alzheimer's disease in mouse models. Nayantara is currently an intern with the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, developing content to highlight U.S. exchange alumni. Outside of University, Nayantara is the co-founder and president of Youth Advocates for Immigrants and Refugees, and producer of a podcast dedicated to uplifting immigrant/refugee youth stories. In her free time, Nayantara enjoys spending time with family, playing the violin, and dancing Bharatnatyam (Indian classical dance). Fluent in five languages, Nayantara is a proud glossophile. When not reading, listening to music, or baking, Nayantara can be found designing earrings, drinking boba, and bossing around her younger sister.
