Anjana Murugan is a rising third-year student at the George Washington University studying Neuroscience and minoring in Spanish. She is passionate about health equity, global healthcare systems, and accessible education starting at a young age. On campus, Anjana is a member of Delta Epsilon Mu, a pre-professional pre-health fraternity; secretary of Chamak Multicultural Dance Team; and a student advisory board member for the Women's Leadership Program. She also volunteers as an Emergency Medical Technician at a local fire/emergency medical services department. In the past, she has pursued her passion for science as an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Challagundla's Pediatric Cancer Lab, which focuses on Neuroblastoma and Leukemia at a molecular level. She currently conducts remote research that reframes complex scientific research in a manner that is more accessible to the general public, including topics such as healthy aging and neurodegenerative disorders. Outside of academics, she enjoys running, spending time with family and friends, dancing Bharatnatyam (Indian classical dance), reading, and attempting to cook various dishes.
